Obama Hopes Grant Will Give Mothers Education

President Barack Obama has a goal of sending mothers back to school, and recent actions he has taken prove just that. This includes education funding that is available for women who had to give up on schooling because raising a family took top priority in their lives. The Pell grant now includes $5,500 for women who would like to better their education - this figure was increased by $200 by the Obama administration.

Going back to school might seem nearly impossible for those moms with busy schedules packed with their children's activities along with all the work of running a household, but the Pell grant can be used to earn a degree online, which lets them study from home.

Another perk is that the grant is a gift - it does not have to be paid off like a student loan. There are many recent - and not so recent - college graduates out there who are still paying on their loans who would love to receive such a grant.

But what are the benefits of going back to school? Once that diploma is earned, you will have the education necessary to work in a career that you were not equipped for before. Employers will find you more desirable, and just think how much your children will admire you once you are working again, and will also show them it is important to have a work ethic.

Most people hear about this and take a wait and see approach. Over the course of days and weeks afterwards, opportunities disappear, and motivation decreases. It's important to recognize that taking the first step is the most difficult part, but the rewards can be huge.
